As previously reported the storm this weekend is set to produce
very big waves on Sunday and Monday, forecasters predict.
"It's gonna whop us hard," said Alex Peabody, an aquatic safety specialist with the California State Parks public safety division. "At the height of the swell, surfing and swimming will be pretty dangerous."
Waves could top 10 feet by Sunday afternoon on west-facing beaches, such as Black's in La Jolla, forecasters said. The breakers are expected to grow to as large as 20 feet by Monday.
