Hurricane John Track Map (5-Day Cone) UPDATE 08-31-2006: Downgraded to category 2. Initially not as strong as expected... UPDATE 09-01-2006: This Hurricane JOHN Public Advisory has the hurricane at Category 3 UPDATE 09-02-2006: Weakened to a category 1. We can expect the energy from this hurricane to begin reaching us on Sunday (9/3) and continue through until about Tuesday (9/5) or Wednesday. Expect south-facing beaches to accept the SW swell the best. Waves are predicted from waist-high on Sunday up to a peak of chest-high on Tuesday. Overall this storm didn't produce eye-popping surf but it did begin what will be a nice next week. SW swell should continue rising throughout the week and into next weekend for head-high sets! |
