Imperial Beach Closed Near Pier

Printer-friendly versionSend to friendPDF versionThe beach around the pier was closed today due to a sewage spill from the pier's water line. An unknown quantity of sewage spilled into the ocean.

SignOnSanDiego reports Broken sewer line closes beach near pier

The spill was stopped at 10 a.m. yesterday when the water line serving the pier was shut off. Signs posted by the Department of Environmental Health will remain until new measurements indicate the water is safe for recreational use.
